Just an Update...

Wow, has it been that long since I updated this thing! Well, I better get on it then.

Isaac is doing well. Much better in school this week. He did not even go to the office one time!!
He is seeing a new counselor and his name is Coliin. And woo-hoo if that man did not have a wedding ring on - Isaac might just get a new Daddy...LOL. He is very good with Isaac. He used to be an actor in LA, Calif - now he works with kids. I guess acting didn't go very well. LOL.

My job is going very well. I really like it there and the people are very nice. A big change from my other job! I have plenty to do - there is no time to really get bored. I thought it was going to just be data entry, but I am learning so much more.

I have kicked out our roommate and it is just me and Isaac again. Thank God. For the ones that didn't know I let a guy from my old job stay here until his mothers house got fixed {it caught fire}. Well, it was all ok until we started seeing each other. I guess his girlfriend got jealous, because she started demanding all of his time. Go figure, oh wait - they were going out. LOL. anyway he got her pregnant, then he tells me he is breaking up with her and then they are back together, then broke up. To much drama for me - he had to go. As soon as I booted him out, he majically was able to get an apartment! When he could not even help with rent here. Hmmmm. Anyway, he gets his apartment and then calls me to tell me how good him and his preggo girlfriend are doing - so I asked him "If you are doing so well, why call me"? Haven't heard from him since. LOL. I am so mean. Anyway his brother called me the other night - and I guess he didn't believe that he was going to be an uncle - so I had to confirm it for him... O-well he should have told him the truth. So, anyway - like always, me and Isaac are doing better on our own. We know what we need to do - we don't need distractions in our way. So I have vowed - no more roomates. I have done it on my own and will continue to!

OK, now for Easter. We had an awesome time. We went to Waxahachie to see some "family" and spent the weekend out there in the country. Man, it is so quiet and calm out there. No sirens, people walking down the street. Nothing, but dogs barking and an occassional gunshot from the crazy neighbor {he fixes guns I think}. But, I can guarantee it the best night sleep I got in a long time...Isaac too...We had a great time and we'll go back out soon - it is a long drive but it is well worth it. Home cooked food, good friends and family and Isaac has acres and acres to play on with his favorite 3 dogs...Yeah, we'll go back.

Alright, enough for now. Colin is on his way - and I need to go do something with my hair...
I know he is married - but that doesn't mean I have to look awful does it?! LOL

Love you guys, have a great weekend...

Memory Lane...

Look at him...He is so little in this picture. This was Christmas 2004!!! I was going through our old pictures and found his pictures from 2 years ago, that was a rinky-dink Christmas, this one will be much better. He knows the real meaning of Christmas a little better now - he realizes it is not just about presents. Well...the presents are always a bonus though...lol...

I was thinking about past years while going through those pictures and realized how much my son has grown; emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically. I always wonder if I do right for him. When I see the look on his face at the happiest times of his life, the answer is clear. There is always doubt in the mind of a single mother, but it disappears when you see you child grow and florish the way he has.

He has been invited to a party at his school tomarrow for "AR Testing-High Scorers". I told him how proud of him I was, and meant every word. You see, AR Testing are tests they give the children in schools to see where they are academically. He scored in the top 90% of 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. I am not hear to brag on my son, but what the heck - why not. He is 7!!! He scored higher than some 8 and 9 year olds. Why not brag??? Why not scream and cheer and yell out loud??? So, I realized after I told him how proud I was that we needed to scream and cheer and yell out loud...so that is exactly what we did...

Don't let a day go by that you don't tell your kids you love them, I know I don't. And I see the results each and everyday...

Keeping in Touch...

Well, here we are...On the world wide web...Yeah!!! We have finally entered the 21st Century!! I promise to keep this updated with blog entries and pictures to consistantly keep all family and friends updated on our journey through life...

First of all, we are doing very well in Texas. I have a good job, nice apartment and Isaac is doing better in school. Some days are worse than others - but with what 7 year old are they all perfect days anyway?? We have learned that we need to take it one day at at time. And we are learning together how to do that...

We struggle everyday with ADHD and Anger Management issues with him, but he is learning how to channel his feelings alot better. He is learing how to meditate - yeah, you heard it right, meditate!! Doing pretty good actually. It helps alot with channeling his anger. He is exceptioally smart in academics and so-so in sports. He is more into art and music than sports. So, he draws alot and loves listening to his CD's.

Well, that's all for now. I am going for now, but I will check in again soon...

With Much Love from The Riggs Family.
